Benson's From Scotland to Richmond,NSW,Australia
Our line of Benson's come from William Murray Benson (1805--1859)who was born in Falkirk,Scotland to Alexander and Elizabeth Benson.
He and his wife Marion(nee Kay) and 6 children came to Richmond,NSW,Australia in 1844 to work for the Carron Iron Co.based in Stirlingshire,Scotland.They had their 7th child John Benson (3/11/1844---3/3/1873)here in Richmond.
Many Richmond/Windsor families are married into the Benson line eg Ezzy,Lamrock,Hough,Cobcroft,Dick,Onus,Ridge,Thew and Wood.
