I have been working this Benson line for over 40 years.
There is NO Vina Tollison.

Vina was a name made up for proof of Indian heritage in order to garner monitory/land gain.

If someone can show me proof of her existance, other than

Vol. 1, No. 2, Page 11 of the Benson Trace:

"John (1) Benson Family of Franklin Co. Ala. he married Rhoda Tollerson circa 1814/5 in Bledsoe? Co., Tenn. She was the daughter of Erasmus & ______(______)Tollerson and was born circa 1792 in Tenn or N.C."

In a petition by Braxton C. Benson for Identification as a Mississippi Choctaw, June 20, 1900, he claimed that Vina and Rhoda Tollison were sisters and 1/2 blood Mississippi Choctaw Indians.

please let me know, as there is NO proof, as far as I know.

Thanks!
