I am seeking info on the family of Zachariah Benson, b. 1764 in Fauquier Co., VA and who married Sarah Partlow on 11
May 1785 in same county. Zachariah is the son of Prue Benson and Elizabeth _______, and grandson of Robert Benson, b.
1685 in King George Co. VA and Frances Prou, b. 1689 in Lancanter Co., VA.
Questions????... Who are the children of Zachariah and Sarah? Is one of them, Reuben Benson, b. 1791 in VA? Said Reuben
left VA, with his father, Zachariah, after 1791, and settled in what was Campbell Co., KY (when I don't know but it was
before 1817) and lived on land on the Main Lickling River. Zachariah's land included the area known as Indian Spring.
Zachariah died in Campbell Co., KY before 1838. What few records I have been able to find do not mention Sarah Partlow
or any of her children with Zachariah. The Zachariah Benson who came to KY with his son Reuben had three daughters
listed in his will: Judy, Mima, and Nancy. A Matthew Benson was executor of the will and probably another son. Rueben
worked in the area with a Martin Benson, probably another brother. A Jane Benson married Asa McCollum, a brother of
Reuben's wife, Winney, in the same year and county as Reuben's marriage, and is probably a sister to Reuben. Any help in
establishing the link that the Zachariah Benson b. 1764 in Fauquier Co., VA is the same Zachariah Benson who came from
VA with his son Reuben after 1791 would be appreciated.
