It is time for another plea for help. My Benson dead end is Robert Benson b. 1790-95 in TN. Occupation was Shoemaker. Moved to Ala around 1832 to Walker Co. Nauvoo area. My descendent was his Son William H. Benson 1831-190? A civil war vet (21st ALA inf), and coal boat captain on the Black Warrior. Can not make any connection to the well known Benson families of va and Tn in that time frame (and they're well documented). Help!!! Seems to be a Robertson Co. TN connection but nothing certain.
