Mary BENSON from Strathblane (father Edward BENSON mother Elizabeth) married James THOM 31 December 1891 and their son James THOM was born 7 February 1892.In 1901 this son was living at Pennyburn Forgue with his grandmother and his father James THOM who was a miner was in Kilmodan Argyllshire and recorded as unmarried.I have the marriage and birth certificates so I know that Mary BENSON did marry James THOM. I cannot find any record of a death of Mary BENSON and am trying to find any other children of the marriage and what happened to Mary BENSON.I am wondering why he ended up with his father's mother and not his mother's mother. Mary BENSON's family were all involved in calico machine printing in Strathblane in 1881.
