According to PRDH records Daniel Benoit and Marguerite Neveu had ten children, the first five baptized in Chambly and subsequent five in Pointe Oliver (St. Mathias) parish. Unfortunately the records for that parish from September 1763 to October 1777 are missing and thus no record for their son Paul's birth is found. At his marriage on October 8, 1798 (in Pointe Oliver) he is recorded as twenty years old suggesting a birthdate in 1778. However his next sibling Hippolyte Benoit's baptism is recorded on April 11, 1778 so Paul could not have been born later than about July 1777.
Paul Benoit married Marguerite Deniau on October 8, 1798 at Chambly, and she was the daughter of Pierre Deniau and Marie Pelagie Demers and had been born at Chambly on April 8, 1781. Paul and Marguerite's first child was Paul Benoit who was born December 30, 1799 at Pointe Olivier. Since the PRDH records do not currently extend beyond 1800 there is no information about other children or the deaths of their parents.
