From memory, concerning the notary involved, his writings were destroyed by the Coaticook fire (no microfilms). I found this at the Registry Office in Coaticook itself about a year ago. I was not researching Benoits, but Alphonse Chartier, my g-grandfather who acted on behalf and had power of attourney for this Benoit. I did not check the Benoit name index itself, only the Chartiers.
The Registry Office can make photocopies at $16 per act plus taxes. I only took notes I did not get a copy of the act itself. I will have to recheck my notes, may have something else
