Are you related to Phyllis Bennison of Hartlepool, who would be in her late 50s? I am her natural daughter. I was born in Corbridge on 5th February 1964, and was adopted by Ron and Nancy Scott, who were resident in South Shields at the time. We moved to Scotland when I was 4, and since then I have lived in Greece, and am now in New Zealand.
I have tried contacting Phyllis through Durham Family Welfare, who organised the adoption in 1964, but have had no reply. I'm not sure how many of the family know of my existence - I imagine it was all hushed up at the time.
