The following obituary of Sarah E. (PERKINS) GLOVER was found in file of family information when my wife's father passed away. There is no indication as to the newspaper in which it was published, though my guess is that it came from a church publication: MORTUARY After three months of intense suffering, Mrs. Sarah E. GLOVER passed away Saturday, June 15th 1901, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John BENNING, where she had been lovingly cared for. She was the only daughter of Erastus and Mary PERKINS. She was born in Sag Harbor, L.I., November 12th, 1834, and came, with her parents, to Clyde when about 9 years old. In her early womanhood she was united in marriage to Conklin GLOVER. At the age of 40, she was left a widow with six children, and who can tell of the patience, trials and loving sacrifice she bore for the sake of those loved children who now "arise and call her blessed." She has seen them all happily married and making homes of their own. Edward H. GLOVER, now living on the old homestead, Mrs. John BENNING and Mrs. Eugene GRENELL, near Clyde, Mrs. William TOWNSEND of North Rose, Mrs. Charles CUNNINGHAM of Pipestone, Minn. and Herbert GLOVER of Woodstock Minn., survive her; also, two brothers - James H. PERKINS of Dover, Del., and E.Y. PERKINS of Creston, Iowa. She was united with the church in 1870 and was a consistent member to the day of her death. Although she had lived in the vicinity of Clyde nearly sixty years, she had a small acquaintance, being of such a retiring disposition. A few days before she died, she told a daughter of the "beautiful dream" she had. "I dreamed I was at the portals of Heaven and saw your father. He reached out his hand to me and said: "At last, at last, at last." Believe that Conklin H. GLOVER, Sarah's husband, was the son of another pair of Long Island immigrants, Samuel and Mercy (HOMAN) GLOVER, who resided in Clyde. Sarah's mother was Mary (BABCOCK) PERKINS, daughter of Hedges BABCOCK. Have just begun researching my wife's lineage and would be glad to correspond and share information on these GLOVER, BABCOCK, HOMAN and PERKINS families with anyone researching these lines.
