Hello to all interested. I just found and registered with this site. My dad's name is Billy Max Bennight, he was born in Eustace, TX, in 1930; he died in the late 1990s while living near Dallas in Gun Barrel City close to Mabank; which is where I graduated from high school. I do not recall ever meeting my grandfather (William Wesley Bennight) as he died I beleive before I was born or shortly thereafter and is buried at the Goshen Cemetery near Eustace, TX where my dad is also buried. As best as I can recall my dad had 3 brothers (Orvil, Irvine, and Kenneth) and 2 sisters (Edith and Ivy). According to my mother's bible my great grandfather's name was George William Bennight and his father was William Bennight. I believe that most of my side of the Bennight clan were in the east Texas area (Eustace, Mabank, Kaufman, Kemp, Athens, Terrell, Dallas areas) and many still reside in the Houston and Dallas areas. Before Hurricane Katrina I had a lot of geneoligical information but unfortunately we were flooded and I lost all of that documentation and photos in the aftermath. What info I have now is from a family bible that my mother had. Regretably I lost contact with the majority of my Bennight aunts, uncles, and cousins many years ago when I joined the Navy and left home, and except for the burial of my dad have not seen or spoken to many of them since 1970. I beleive that most of my uncle Irvin's children still live in the east TX area around Dallas/Ft. Worth; they were Franky, Rojean (sp?), Bobby, Brenda, and Paul. I grew up with 2 younger brothers and 2 sisters (brothers William Wesley and Dennis Micheal (deceased), and older sister Judy and younger sister Kathlene). I do recall that there were many cousins but do not remember many names.
Anyway, I will check back periodically to see if I get any response.
