Cindy - in response to your posts here and the email you sent to me regarding the RichardBennett who left in his Will dated 3/5/1785 and proven 1786 in Granville Co., NC Will Book 1:268.Will names his wife Ann and children Thomas (Fultilove), Micajah, William, Peter, Bartlett and Lewis Bennett and Sarah Estes, Francis Bush and Anna Duke.
He had previously been in Louisa and Albemarle Co., VA where his children xcan alos be found in deeds of those counties.
In 1746 he was granted 400 acres on a branch of Beaverdam Swamp in Albemarle Co (Patent Bk 25:248)
In 1764 this deed shows he and wife Ann selling the same to Cornelius McCoy while Richard was residing in
AlbemarleCo.
Louisa Co Deed Book B:49 10 11. 1764
Richard Bennett of St. Annes Parish in Albemarle Co to Cornelus cCoy of Trinity Parish in Louisa Co.; 178 acres in Trinity Parish on Cubb Creek adj. Wm. Rice, David Anderson, Wm. HOgins on north side of Cubb Creek.
At some point he moved to Granville Co where he died, most likely living with a son or daughter there.
THis Richard is closely related to the Peter Bennett who died in Bedford CO. VA but I am not sure just how.
Hope this helps.
Linda
