Hello. My Grt Grt grandmother was Jane Bennett, daughter of John Bennett and Mary Gillies of Bathurst, Ont., Cda. Jane married John, son of Alexander McDonald and Margaret Mathews of Bathurst, Ont. Canada in 1838. They are listed in the "Catholic Marriages of the Perth Region, Ontario" publication. I am unable to find any other record of John Bennett or Mary Gillies in Bathurst. I have checked the extracts of the Bathurst Courier without success. Am I barking up the wrong Bennetts? Thank you.
