In case you would like to check out the information on the intruders - TNGenWeb

John Birdsong/Burdsong is listed with Thomas Adkins, John Bennett, Jeremiah Lynch and others in Grainger Co., TN 1797 as insolvents living in Indian lands. Private John Birdsong I'm told was born c1762 (mar ___ Ewing c1782) was s/o Major John Birdsong & (?Marie ?Armistead) died/Union Co., SC, s/o John Birdsong & Sarah Bennett married ca1732 York Co., VA.

John Birdsong - NC Rev War - R855 - 5/15/1828 - McNary, TN - Enlisted in Chatham County, North Carolina in 1780

Thomas Adkins applied for Rev War pension 10/1/1833 Whitley Co., KY. Born 1760/2 in NinetySix SC - died 8/5/1845 in Whitley Co. KY. Married 1/1/1782, in Laurens District, South Carolina, Ruthy Linch of said district. Don't know about Jeremiah Lynch; may have been brother of Ruthy (Lynch) Adkins.

Not sure where Joel Bennett lived in Greenville Co., SC but John Birdsong, James, John & Thomas Bennett and William Lynch lived N of Saluda River per the plat records.
