Bennet family Township of Watervliet, N.Y. circa 1839

Seeking information on the family of Bennet, seen on a map of the 2,500 acre tract of land being the estate of Stephen VanRensselaer dated 1839. The dwelling of Bennet is located about a mile north of what was the Patroon's Manor house in what is now North Albany, N.Y. It is seen on the East side of the Erie Canal with a road identified today as Simmons Lane in Menands, N.Y. leading from what was then called the McAdam Road, or the Watervliet Turnpike. (Today's Rt. 32 Broadway) Bennet probably owned farm lands stretching from the Erie Canal down to the Hudson River. There is no first initial on the map, just the name "Bennet". Any information on this family situated in the West Manor of Rensselaerswyck, Town of Watervliet, would be greatly appreciated. Kindly contact Kevin Franklin, Historian, Town of Colonie, N.Y. at the email listed on this posting. Thanks.
