Hi Peter,
I hope to hear from you. I am the daughter of Bradford Mozart Benn - Bob Benn from Quincy, Mass. cousin. We are truly related - your wonderful father Bob L. and your late dear mother Nancy were very kind in sending the BENN Book several years ago and we exchange notes and Christmas cards every year.
My great grandfather, Bob Benn from Quincy, Mass. grandfather, was brother to your great grandfather, Robert William Mason Benn.I sent the photo copy of the entire group to your parents quite some time ago.
It's been a wonderful connection, as so many BENN family traits are evident - we have manygifted artists in our branch, too! Both in art and in writing.
Bob in Quincy is very close to our cousin, Carol who lives in Manhattan and is a writer - her mother was a daughter of Walter Franklin Woodward Benn and Nellie Duffey.
There's also Sandra in Hanover, Mass and Phillip in Florida, both children of Zelda Maisie Benn, sister to my grandfather Mozart and Bob Benn in Quincy, Mass.'s father, Woodward "Woody" Benn and several other siblings of my grandfather.
A very interesting note: Your father Bob Benn had such wonderful things to say about his Uncle Eric, who helped him in his career after college. The same week that your father sent me a copy of a letter Eric wrote to your grandmother (I think), I got a copy of a letter on the same letterhead, the same year from Eric's 2nd wife, Marion - who wrote to Carol's mother Verda Benn!! All about the same information!! What a coincidence!
This is one extraordinary family - hope to hear any updates - I would love to know if your brother andrew ever returned to Coolbanagher to take photos at the cemetery.
