I need to be in touch with any Benjamin descendants of General Giuseppe (Joseph) Avezzana, of Chieri, Italy, who immigrated to the United States about 1834.
This line would come from Katherine (Caterina) Avezzana and O. de St. Seigne, their daughter Rachele Carolina de St. Seigne, b. Italy, d. NY and her husband Walter Benjamin.
The museum in the home town of the General, Chieri, province of Torino, is seeking to erect a statue of the General in honor of his service to Italy. My husband is also a native of this city, Chieri, and is there at the present. He has volunteered my services here in the states to try to find descendants who might possibly attend a dedication of the statue.
That is all I know at the present time.
