Benham Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Rebecca! It was great to receive your message today.
I have a huge Benham album, maybe a hundred pages thick, with articles about the Benhams I have downloaded from the Internet. I also have the huge Benham family tree scroll that was compiled by Fred Benham in the 1950s. I would be more than happy to share any of these things. I also found a great painting depicting the trial of Winifred Benham, showing her daughter, her accusers, and her husband consoling her. Since she was the last person tried for witchcraft in New England, there seems to be a lot of interest today about her and her trial. My mother was always extremely proud of her Benham heritage and got membership in the DAR for being the direct descendant of Sgt. Peter Benham. Robert Benham certainly was a rather famous citizen of early Ohio and Kentucky. Our Benhams, were descended from James, his son, I believe. He and his family founded Benham, Indiana. I know that my grandfather and his brothers always attended the Benham family reunion in Benham, Indiana, each year. I have photos taken of them at a reunion. My greatgrandfather, Charles Benham, had seven brothers, who were all born in Indiana. I have a great photo of them taken together in Benham with my great-great-grandmother aroung 1870. Anyway, obviously, I can go on and on about the Benhams. Thanks again for your note, and don't hesitate to ask me for any Benham info I can share with you.
