Ex.d Maryland fs.t Know all men by these Presents That
We Jonas Green of the City of Annapolis Printer and Samuel
Soumain of the same Place Silver Smith are held and firmly
bound unto Eliott Benger of Virginia Esquire Sole Deputy
Postmaster General of all his Majesty's Dominions in America
in the full and just sum of one hundred pounds sterling to be paid
to the said Elliott Benger his Certain Attorney Executors Admors
or Assigns to which payment well and truly to be made and done
we bind our selves and each of us our and each of our heirs Exors
and Admors jointly and severally for the whole and in the whole
firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated
this Twenty Second day of March in the seventeenth
Year of the Reign of his present Majesty King George the
Second and in the Year of our Lord 1743/4
Whereas the above named Elliott Benger Esquire by his Comiss.n
under his hand and seal dated the fourth Day of February in the
Year abovesaid hath Deputed Authorized and appointed the
above bound Jonas Green to be his Lawfull and Sufficient Deputy
to Execute the Office of Deputy Postmaster of Annapolis in the
Province of Maryland for so long as the said Elliott Benger
shall Judge fit for his Majesty's Service to Continue the above
bound Jonas Green therein and under such Conditions Covenants
Provisoes payments orders and instructions to be faithfully observed
performed and done by the above bound Jonas Green and Servants
as he or they shall receive from the said Elliott Benger If therefore
the above bound Jonas Green shall well and Truly execute and
Perform the said Office of Deputy Post master for Annapolis
afs.d in the said Province and also Observe and Perform all such
Conditions Covenants Provisoes Payments orders and Instructions
as he and his Servants shall from time to time receive from the
said Elliott Benger and Likewise during the time he shall.
