Do you show that Stout and Martha Jane would have been in Illinois in 1864? I show Sarah Catherine Benedict was born January 1864 in Illinois.

Also, my grandfather was Evan Bender Hawkins. My dad says the "Bender" name was Evan's grandmother's maiden name. That would either mean she is Sarah Catherine Bender or my dad's information is incorrect. There are Benders living in Perry County, Illinois however that dad says are relatives.

I am so confused!
