This info is in "Genealogy of the Benedicts in America" Vol. I
FRANCIS 5(James 4, James 3, James 2, Thomas1), m. Mary Hoyt; removed to Norfolk, Ct., where he d. April 15, 1815; soldier of the Revolution. His children:
ANNA, m. Comstock.
LOIS, b. 1766; m. Isaac Barber; d.1829, Res. New Marlborough, Mass.
Lois had three other siblings.
The book traces the numbered males (with info on each) back to Thomas Benedict & Mary Bridgum, who was his step-sister. They came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1638 on the same ship, married soon after, and moved to Southold, Long Island c.1640, and
then to Norwalk, CT, c.1665. They had nine children. Supposedly all Benedicts in America are descended from his first five sons.
