I am just discovering my Benedict connection....These are the clues I have thus far.
My ggrandmother was Hanah Benedict. She married James Hughes in Texas - probably in the Goliad area (my grandfather, John Anthony Hughes, was born there in 1872).
I found a land transaction between Anthony Benedict, her father, and a Jeremiah Hughes in the late 1860's - also in Goliad.
Anthony Benedict is listed on a 1970 Goliad, TX census which I haven't received yet.
Hanah was born in Indiana in 1838 per the 1880 census information I have for the James Hughes family.
I found the Anthony Benedict family in Princeton, Gibson Co., IN 1850 -Hanah was 12. Which would be a 1838 birthdate. Also her name is spelled with one "n" as it was on the 1880 census-which may or may not mean anything.
I have also found the 1837 Daviess County IN Marriage of Anthony to Selina Baldwin found in the Early Marriages to 1850 IN.
According to the 1850 census , Anthony would have been born in 1810 in Kentucky.

Seline age 30 born Indiana
Hanah age 12 born Indiana
Susanah age 10 born ?
Albert age 9 born Indiana

Catherine age 6 born Indiana
Twins Mary and Martha less than a year old born Indiana
Do any of you have information regarding this Family, this line?? I would be most grateful for any help here.
