I am trying to trace back from John C. Benedict (born cir. 1776).
He moved from New York or Conn. to Arkansas. Stopped in Kentucky and married Rebecca Standlee. Also lived in Missouri for a few years on his way West. In Arkansas, he was an pioneer land holder in 1820. He was a hatter and named one son Russell White Benedict. I suspect that he was from Danbury, Conn.
I can trace the Benedict family forward in Arkansas. Would appreciate any help.
