Henry Harvey Benedict in Arkansas

Is Henry H. BENEDICT age 23, who married Ellen C. ADAMS age 16, in Faulkner Co AR on 30 NOV 1873, "Harve" BENEDICT son of Russell White BENEDICT? In four censuses, 1850-1880, R.W.'s son is listed in his household. In 1850 he is listed as Harvey age 1, in 1860 he's Harvey age 10, in 1870 he's Henry age 20, in 1880 he's Harve age 30 and "widowed". If Harve married Ellen in 1873 and is widowed by 1880, then that means Ellen died before 1880, but a family of Benedicts claims descendancy from a son born to Henry and Ellen in 1894. Help me solve this mystery.
