I can see where some confusion can come about the way the Benedicts recycle their names!! I don't know how accurate or complete my information is, it comes from my G-Aunt's application for DAR in 1944. The Hannah Benedict (1745-1777) in her application married Eliakim Davis in 1770. She was born, married and died in Danbury, CT. She was the dau. of Thomas Benedict 9 Nov 1694 - 4 Jul 1776, and Abigail Hoyt. He died in Danbury, but was born in Norwalk. There are no siblings listed for this Hanna; but there was no reason to list any since the point was proving a Davis connection. This line of Benedicts goes back from Thomas to James to Thomas to William III. There are no Benajah Benedicts listed (in my information) as children of this Thomas Benedict; but for what it is worth, his last 5 children and their birth years are listed: Margaret-1743, Robert-1744, Hannah (Anna)-1745, Thankful-ABT 1746, Jemina-ABT 1748. Since Abigail Hoyt, the mother was about 51 years old when Hannah was born, and even older when Thankful and Jemina were born, she must have been a pretty tough woman. Beginning to stretch the limits of reasonableness. Hope this helps more than confuses.
