Cindy... read your posting on Joseph Benedict who went to Ontario and the followups with interest because I am descended from 1Thomas 2 John 3 Joseph-- Thomas, as you may know, being the first Benedict immigrant to Massachusetts Bay in 1638 (this and other details from the Benedict Genealogy books mentioned by Mrs. Crosswhite in her followup). I know that my more recent ancestors came down out of Canada to Iowa in 1847, so it will be interesting to search for a connection between your Joseph and mine. I doubt that they are the same, since your Joseph may be born somewhat recently for Thomas' grandson-- but perhaps may be a son, nephew, etc. to the other Joseph. I will fill you in if I come across any connection, and hope you will respond in kind. Thanks. DWB
