Cindy... I was interested in your posting about Joseph Benedict who went to Ontario, and the follow-ups, because I am decended from 1Thomas 2 John 3 Joseph-- Thomas, as you may know, being the first Benedict immigrant in 1638 (this and more details from the Benedict Genealogy books mentioned in Ms. Crosswhite's followup.) I know my more recent ancestors came down out of Canada into Iowa in 1847, so it will be interesting to search for a connection between your Joseph and mine. They are probably not the same, since yours was probably born a bit more recently than Thomas' grandson-- but yours could perhaps be a son, nephew, etc., of that Joseph. I will fill you in if I find any connection, and hope you will do the same. Thanks.
