Benedict Book source for Edwin Benedict's daughter Minerva Sarah Faye Benedict, married to Swift Berry Smith is obviously in error. 1880 census for Fairfield, Jefferson, Iowa shows spouse of Swift B. Smith to be age 38, which makes sense, considering that Smith was born 1840, the same year as Sarah Rebecca Clarke, the spouse of Edwin Dwight Benedict. Edwin D. Benedict and Sarah Clarke married 1861.
