Hi again Tif,
Yes, I've had luck with this area. We have a relative in what was East Germany near the Russian border. His name is Heiko. There is also a floral shop in the Former East Germany called Blumen Benduhn. I believe Heiko is connected with that but my German is seriously lacking and for obvious reasons, he had no reason to learn English. We've corresponded via e mail for a couple of years now. There is also my cousin Barb in Florida and Jim in Ohio. I don't know if this will all ever come together in my life time. I think Dad was a bit off by looking in the Alsace region when he and Mom went over there after he retired. I think we're more Russian/German than French/German as previously believed.
