I'm trying to research my John Britt bornc 1620s ancestor in Isle of Wight Co VA. In 1673, Emma Britt, presumed to be his wife, deeded a cow (see below) to Elizabeth Benbricke, daughter of Thomas Benbricke. I'm assuming the surname was more likely Benbrook. This Britt line was later in Southampton VA, Bertie/Northampton/Hertford, Johnston, Edgecombe, Wake, Moore and Halifax Co NC 1720s-1820s.My Britt line went to GA, AR, AL and TX.

11 Aug 1673 Emma Britt having given unto Elizabeth Benbricke, the dtr of Thomas Benbrick, one cow, the said Emma (Emma Britt) with the consent of her husband (goes on to describe what happens to any increase…calves…born of the cow…and if a bull…to whom it goes).

Any hints on a Benbrook line in VA that early?

Thanks,
Gary
