A surname project for the Benbow surname, and any variations of it, is now available at FamilyTreeDNA. There are four participants so far, and we are looking for more. In particular, we would like to find individuals from the British Isles whose DNA could be compared with others whose ancestors immigrated to America or elsewhere. Wherever you live in the world, we invite you to consider being part of this project.

There may well be a different and more detailed webpage for this project in the future, and, when that is available, I'll return here and post that address.
While you can choose to do the 12-marker test, we would recommend that you go ahead and order the 25 or 37 markers, as a way of getting more detailed results. There will be many "matches" at 12 markers which won't match all of the 25 or 37 markers.
We will be delighted for anyone to join the project!
