Does anyone know why their is a difference in the spelling of our name? My uncle once told me long ago that he believed our families last name was once spelled with an "s" at the end but that it was "accidentally" changed when one of our ancestors name was mispelled on a birth certificate. Don't know if there's any truth to that though.
