I checked my records and they fall short of your Grandfather's birth date. My records for benavides's are from 1630-1871, your Grandfather was born in July of 1875. The address for Spanish American Genealogical Assoc. (SAGA) is POB 794, Corpus Christi, Texas 78403. Their phone # is 1-512-855-1183, EMAIl at SagaCorpus.AOL.com. There records are published in books from 1761-1871, they have a book of baptism's w.grandparents that I have a copy of for Benavides's and your ancestor is not on it.
The books are $50 each, and they are well worth it. These are the same books you might find ina genealogical library in an international section. Or you may try the Parish for cerralvo San Gregorio de Magno, and their records may be kept in Monterrey, at the Archbishop's Place, it's called Curia Pastoral Archbispado de Monterrey, Zua Sur No. 1100 con Ocampo, Monterrey, N.L., Mexico Apdo No.7-C.P. 64000, their tele3 is 45-24-66, the international code to call i believe is still 10- so it's 10-45-24-66, but check with a ,international long dist operator , just in case i/m wrong. But these people will look up the baptism record, the cost is about 11.00 US $, plus postage, and it will take about 2-3 months to get a copy, sena as much information as you can to verify your ancestor, as the $ is not returnable, if your relation cannot be found. I hope you find what you need. I had to go to Cerralvo for the records of my Great Grandfather's and the trip was well worth it, the Church that they were baptised in still exists, almost as the original, and the mass was beautiful, of course, it was on my b-bay 12-12- el dia de las Guadalupe's, my 1st name is that, and they had a special mass, on that day, and it was beautiful, as they made the mass special for all the Guadalupe's in the Town of Cerralvo, and it is a trip that i will never forget.
