My Mother passed away on 1-29-01 and I have just come across an article which starts like this:

Memorial Obituary
Francisco Garza
Mirando City--Francisco Garza 63, of Mirando City, died in Mercy Hospital
Tuesday at 11:05 p.m.
Services will be held Thursday at 4-p.m. from the home in Mirando City to
Santa Ines Catholic Church, with burial in the Aguilares Cemetery.
Rosary was set for Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the home.
A resident of Mirando City for the past 20 years, Garza was a retired truck
driver. He was born in Benavides.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jacoba R. Garza; a son, Roberto Garza,
Mirando City; two daughters, Mrs. Donata Calinga of Corpus Christi and
Mrs. Dionisio Hernandez Jr. of Mirando City; a sister, Mrs. Paula Bazan of
Falfurrias; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Paula Bazan was my mother's mother. If anyone who reads this article can
shed some light please let me know by posting message. I was in Vietnam
in 1968, but when I returned back to Falfurrias, Texas I don't recall my mother
ever talking about Grandmother's brother dying. My Grandmother's father
was Elivorio Garza and her mother was Felipa Chapa.
According to this information I assume that my Grandmother and my mother were born in Benavides, Texas.
I hope to hear something from someone.
