I am a direct descendent to the Benavides clan that can be traced as far back to as 1880 to Colfax County, New Mexico. Jose Del La Paz Benavidez was my great-great-great grandfather. 'Paz' and his wife Vicenta were living in household 124,8:12, Colfax County, NM territory, on the Lower Dry Cimmaron, near Susan Emery. This is down stream ,east of Folsom, NM near tollgate Canyon on the Granada-Fort Union Freight Road. He was probably born in the Cimmarron area. I would like to know whom his parents were.
