HELP! Looking for
Dear friends and possibly relatives:
I started searching for Moore family roots this past summer, due to afamily illness. My father, Garnett Elwood "Butch" Moore died this week of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
He is the 5th sibling in a family of 13 children who has died of this rare disease.
He was the son ofCharles Moore, who was born 8/17/1888, died 7/27/1943, buried in Cape Girardeau CO,MO, andAnna Wilhelmina Friederica Bock (10/6/1893--5/14/1989). They were married on 9/26/1909 and had 13 children. The Bock family tree is complete back to Germany and there is no trace of this disease in that side of the family.
Charles Moore was the son ofSarah Lucinda Moore and an unknown father. She wasborn 8/8/1874, died 7/1/1935, buried at Dogwood Cemetary in Mississippi CO, MO.After Charles was born, Sarah Lucinda Moore married Arnold Belvinand had 3 children with him:Pearl (4/20/1899--12/7/1936) who married Fred Coke or Koch, Mary Ellen who married Oscar "Buck" Tibbey, and Everett.Info about Sarah Lucinda's parents follows:George Anderson Moore was born 8/17/1837, died abt. 1890, buried in Norris City, White CO, IL. He married Janie Ann ?.She was born 7/9/1845, died abt. 1899, buried in Cape Girardeau CO, MO.
This is all I have on the Moores, though. I am desperatelytrying to find the unknown father of Charles Moore (who was born in White CO, IL) or any other info relating to these MooresIf ANYONE out there knows of any Moores or Belvins who've had ALS or with any info from southern Illinois, please let me know.I've gotten hooked on the family tree, but I promised Dad that I would continue the search. Thanks to any and all who might help.
Rebecca Moore Smith
