Anyone wanting more information about the Belliveau family or other Acadien "Cajun" connections should try sites like:

www.nsonline.com/forums/ - post on GENEALOGY
- lots of good Q's and A's there or go to same site for TRAVEL TALK and also GUESTBBOOK if you are thinking about a visit.

1-800-565-0000 - NS Tourist Info - www.gov.ns.ca - Govt of NS

www.gov.nb.ca - Govt of NB (ask NS for tel#)
- both will send free tourist & other info.

If you can count that high, bring up the BELLIVEAU names on - www.canada411.com - both in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. This is the area that was called "Acadie" from 1600-1755 when the Expulsion started (they call it "Le Grand Dérangement" - The Great Upheaval in French).

www.shelburne.nscc.ns.ca/ - post and view FAMILY REUNIONS and HISTORIES

www.ednet.ns.ca - lots of LINKS to many interesting sites

www.destination-ns.com/ - promotes tourism, visitng NS, history, etc.

There are lots of great Acadian family sites which are still being constructed:

Only French-language newspaper in NS (Nouvelle-Écosse) is:

Hello Nova Scotia, I am Michael J LeBlanc, grandson of the late Senator Dudley J LeBlanc. My grandfather was very proud of his Acadian heritage and wrote three very informative books on the exile and pilgrimage of the Acadians. I recently acquired a couple of cases of his last book "The Acadiana Miracle" printed in 1966 five years before his death. The book is packed with original census, ship rosters, militia rosters, etc. and is the only book of its kind ever written. The books are $100 plus shipping.
