SKOWHEGAN -- Raymond J. Belliveau, 91, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2005, at Redington-Fairview Hospital, Skowhegan. He was born in Wells on May 12, 1914, the son of Henry and Exilda (Casey) Belliveau. In 1935, he married the former Mary Eva Barrieault; she died in 1985. He was employed by American Woolen Mill for 27 years. He also worked many years for Norrwock Shoe and went to work for Knowles and Dressel's Furniture. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer. He attended Notre Dame de Lourdes Parochial School, then worked toward and accomplished getting his GED in 1985. Ray's whole life revolved around his family. He is survived by his daughter, Annette McGowen and husband Ronald of Winthrop; three grandchildren, Julie Noble and husband Robert of Saco, JoEllen Lincoln of Winthrop and Raymond McGowan and wife Karen of Richmond, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Ryan Noble, Matthew Lincoln, and Caitlin and Austin McGowan; two sisters, Dorothy Veneziano of Madison and Lorraine Deschenes of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. At the family's request, there will be no visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Water Street, Skowhegan, with the Rev. Maurice N. Morin officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
