As another descendent of Antoine Belliveau, I would suggest you check a copy of GENEALOGICAL DICTIONARY OF BELLIVEAU-BELIVEAU FAMILIES IN NORTH AMERICA, Frere J. Herve Beliveau. This book appears to have been the work of many "cousins" for the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the Belliveau name in Acadia and compiled by Father Beliveau. It is the most complete story of the Beliveaus I have ever seen. If you haven't already, check THE HISTORY AND GENEALOGY OF THE ACADIANS by Bona Arsenualt. It states that Antoine, born in 1621, was without a doubt from La Chaussee in the area of Loudun, Department of La Vienne, France. This work also references LES PARLERS FRANCAIS D'ACADIE by Genevieve Massignon. I have not been able to obtain a copy of that work as yet. If you find it, please let me know where and how so I can inter-library loan. Also, you probably have done this, but be sure to read all the Acadian census. They can give you insights into the family. They give an over-all picture of the neighbors, possessions, family relationships and relative standing in the community.
