Good afternoon Mike Gainor.
There are a few hundred known descendants (at least 57 pages in my files) of Nicholaus Bellinger (About 1645 - after 1719 ... son of Hans) & Anna Kuhn.It is obviously too much information to share at this time. For more information, contact me offline or better yet, visit the Herkimer County Historical Society "Gift shop" at website http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyhchs/http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyhchs/ for information of everything above plus at least 10,000 additional Bellingers and related family members. There is a Bellinger Book and affiliated CD available at this website.
You ask if there is any known documentation for Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Maria Barbara Bellinger being children of Johannes Bellinger (Dieterich, Hans) & Anna Margaretha Kuhn.
Johannes Bellinger and Anna Maria Margaretha Kuhn were in the Simmendinger Census having 6 children.Nicolas (b. abt. 1685) and Elisabeth (b. abt. 1684) disappear soon after the 1712 subsistence list was issued.Philip (b. abt. 1695), Adam (b. abt. 1698) and Maria Barbara Bellinger (b. 1686) have many descendants. In fact, the Bellinger book and affiliated CD contain many thousand known descendants for 5 of Johannes & Anna Margaretha Kuhn Bellinger's children.
Per the Schoharie, New York Lutheran Church records, Maria Barbara Bellinger (b. 1686 in the Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany; d. 3 August 1753 in Schoharie, NY) married Jacob H. Borst (d. 2 January 1757 at Schoharie) on 6 June 1712. He was the son of Henry Borst. 7 known children with many, many descendants.
You ask "Where is Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany?" ...
Clear Mohawk Valley Bellinger lineage can be traced to Hans Bellinger who was born in 1615 at Steinau An Der Strasse (rock in the road), Germany; a part of the lower Palatinate ... Steinau is on current maps of Germany.
Other nearby sites of interest are: (a) Bellings, a separate village currently incorporated into Steinau township; (b) Just a few kilometers down the road is a village called Bellingser Kreuz (Bellinger's corner?); (c) Also just south of Steinau is the Bellinger Warte (Bellinger's overlook?); Also of interest in the locale is Bellinger Tor (Bellinger gate).
Many Mohawk Valley, New York settlers, especially Bellingers, also emigrated from the Palatinate village of Huttengasas.
The lands of the Palatinate lay on both sides of the Rhine River, extending from near Cologne above Mannheim, Germany and containing approximately 3,500 square miles. Its capital wasHeidelberg and its principle cities were Mayence, Spires, Mannheim and Worms.
Goodbye for now.
David Alan Bellinger of Monroe County, New York
