My great-grandmother's maiden name was Bellew.
This is the Bellew story as I know it.
Several generations back,two brothers by the name of Bellew came to America.
Eventually they met two sisters in Mobile,Alabama.The sisters's father would not give his permission for them to marry the Bellew brothers.They eloped,and the father disowned his daughters.
The Bellews moved away-the father died and the mother began searching for her daughters.
She had no luck in finding them and soon passed away.
