I have quiet a bit of information on Thomas R. Bellew. You can find him on the Miller Co, AR 1880 census. He is living in a boarding house near his wife and children (try spelling his name "Bleu"). His wife is Effie (Effa) Hodnett and he has three children, James, Ophelia, and Lula. Thomas Bellew was apparently on the "outs" with his wife and in fact later married Mary Jane Ware. Effie had been married earlier to William Paulk of Miller Co. William Paulk co-owned a general merchandise store in Fouke, AR (Paulk & Deckert). The 1880 census shows three Paulk children in the household with Effie. Effie's parents were Samuel Hodnett & Nancy Nunnally. Thomas R. Bellew died 17 Feb 1928 in Homer, LA. Effie's sister, Anzolett, was my g-grandmother. The Hodnett's originally came from Virginia and have ancestors who were very prominent in the early days of our country including the establishment of Jamestown, VA.
