My aunt sent me George's (my grandfather) obituary from Burlington, Vt. Figured I'd just put in the obit so you could get some info on George and his family.

'Master Sgt George E. Bellew, 47, died suddenly of a heart attack. He had been in the army 23 years and served 22 months overseas during WWI with the 3rd Cavalry, 1st Army Division (The Bid Red One). George was born in Oconto, Wisconsin august 14, 1895, the son of Edward M. and Mary Laveille Bellew. Besides his widow, the former Marie LaDue, he is survived by seven children, Edward, Robert, Catherine, Patrick (deceased), George (deceased), Carol and Lawrence (my dad wouldn't be born for another month), two brothers, Robert of West Allis, Wisconsin and James of Fort Sheridan, Illinois, his father in Milwaukee, three sisters, Mrs. Brad Graham, Mrs. Edward Stalk and Miss Clara Bellew, Milwaukee. Interment in Fort Cemetary'

My Aunt also sent some other info. According to her, George's father came to America from Ireland during the potato famine and his mother was canadian of french descent. George may have been the oldest child in his family, but not real sure. Their may have been an older brother, Matthew, but she thinks he died at a young age. That's pretty much it. I can update you on the rest of George's family if you like, just let me know.

Never thought I'd ever know about that side of my family since my aunts and uncles don't really care about any family history stuff.
