Looking for the Bellew family members who imigrated from Ireland to Oconto Co., Wisconsin. Rosa S. Smyths from her obit is said to be from Maple Town, County of Louthe, Ireland. Have not discovered her husband's name. Rosa is buried next to her son, James Bellew, who died January 29, 1907 and is buried at the Catholic Cemetery, Oconto, Oconto Co., Wi, Block 12. Next to him is his wife, Catherine Maroney, b. January 02, 1839 ; d. January 02, 1903. She is the sister of my GG Grandma, Mary Louise Maroney, dau. of Lot & Ellen Furlong Maroney/Moroney, also of Ireland. Mary Lousie married J. J. Noonan of Oconto Co., WI. Have more info if this line fits with yours.
Below is a developing outline of the Bellew line:
* Note, early on this was occasionally referred to as the Belleau. The spelling of Bellow is seen in a nearby town and the relationship is not yet known. IN the early French Traders era of Northeastern Wisconsin & Michigan, a spelling of Belleau is seen in literature. [Have some info on that.]
