Thanks Vince for responding and no I haven't read J. Elton Bell's book, but will most definitely check it out.
The George Bell you mentioned is potentially the father of my George, after all, the Lemuel name had to come from somewhere. I have another ancestor, Keziah who married Dennis Rushing of Anson County, NC and it has been suggested her father was George Bell. She is approximately 8 years older than my George, so maybe they were sibling???
My search for Bell ancestors has been as productive as planting corn on an asphalt parking lot, but I will continue and ask if you run across anything that you even suspect could benefit my quest, please post here or email me - belletal08@yahoo.com.
