I have been told all my life that Abraham Belknap and family were the first and only Belknaps to come to America. However, this seems unlikely. My brother-in-law, Dayle Aubrey Binnion, who taught in the Midland, Texas school system, had a Bellknapp in one of his classes. Since the name was so close to mine, he questioned the student. His grandfather had come to the US from Norway in the late 1960s. Unfortunately, by the time he informed me, the student and his family had moved and left no trace. Bill Link, do you have any information on these other Bellknapps?
