You list your maternal great-grandmother as a Josefa Zelaya. Maybe the name was common, but my paternal great-grandmother was also named Josefa Zelaya-Cherrington. She must have been around the early 1900's, as Josefa Zelaya (my great-grandmother) bore a son, Herman Cherrington to Josiah Cherrington. My father is in possession of the wedding ring of Josefa Zelaya and Josiah Cherrington. Supposedly, Josefa Zelaya came from Guatemala. Sorry if I haven't been of much use but I found the name something I had to reply to.
