Hi Adolfo,
Thanks for clarifying things for me and for the additional information. I believe that in order for me (us) to get further information we would have to do one of two things: (1)go to Sartenega, San Antonio, or Merida to try to find baptismal or marriage records, or sign up for membership with a genealogical research website called Ancestry.com. But,at this time in my life it would be financially impossible to do either one. A few years ago Ancestry.com was offering a free two week membership in order to get clients. I took advantage of it and got tons of valuable information. At the end of the two weeks I did not renew the membership as it is too expensive for my blood.
Yesterday I passed on to an older relative the information that you sent me in the hopes that she will be able to help us out. She is now eighty-nine years old but her mind is still sharp. She is a direct descendant of the Reyes family; her mother was a Reyes, namely Maria Luisa Reyes.
If you can come up with the names of your grandfather's brothers that might be helpful.
I'm curious, how old are you? I'm sixty-five. Do you have any children? I have seven. What piqued your interest in family history/genealogy?
Take care,
Ralph
