Wow.

I was going to find John Nathaniel's Attestation document to send to you, and also reply that I did not believe that we are related.

But you mention some interesting names.

John Alexander McDonald is my great grandfather. His wife was Georgina McAulay Erskine.
As far as race goes, I have found census information on both of their parents. Sarah Kennedy was mother to John Alexander McDonald and John B. Erskine and Agnes Armstrong were parents to Georgina McAulay Erskine.
The census listed people as White, Coloured, and Black. Kennedy, Erskine, and Armstrong were all listed as Coloured.

George Alexander McDonald, son of John Alexander McDonald, is my grandfather. He did not marry in Belize, but immigrated to New Orleans after serving in WWI and then married rather late in life (about age 40?).

I think I know all of the children of John Alexander McDonald, and there is not an Edward that I know of.

Send me and e-mail and we can communicate directly.

Regards,
Byron McDonald
