I was interested to read your posting with its reference to the flu epidemic of 1918.

My grandmother Veronica Tucker (nee Walker) remembers frequent visits from Dr. Heusner to the home of her grandmother Adelaide Hall in Belize City during the flu scourge. My grandmother credits him with saving her life and the life of her own grandmother at that time. Unfortunately, Dr. Heusner was not able to save my grandmother's two siblings. She believes her own mother Laura Hall died of exhaustion and heartbreak.

My grandmother speaks of Dr. Heusner with great reverance. He also cured her of a later childhood disease.

About ten years ago I met Karla Heusner (a grand-daughter or great-grandaughter) when I was working at Channel 5 in Belize. I count her as a friend.
