Hi, I am posting the notes that I have for some of my pioneer ancestors, in hopes that they may be of interest to some of you that are doing research on your ancestors. Enjoy, Janet Descendants of Pierre Lefebvre Generation No. 1 1. Pierre1 Lefebvre was born about 1590 in Paris, France. He married Jeanne Cutiloup. She was born about 1590 in Paris, France. Child of Pierre Lefebvre and Jeanne Cutiloup is: + 2 i. Pierre2 Lefebvre, born about 1616 in Sceaux-D'Anjou, Paris, France; died Bet. 16 Jul 1668 - 12 Oct 1670 in Cap de la Madeleine, Champlain, QC. Generation No. 2 2. Pierre2 Lefebvre (Pierre1) was born about 1616 in Sceaux-D'Anjou, Paris, France, and died Bet. 16 Jul 1668 - 12 Oct 1670 in Cap de la Madeleine, Champlain, QC. He married Jeanne Nounau Bef. 12 Jan 1647 in Perhaps: Trois Rivières, St. Maurice, QC. She was born about 1626 in France, and died 11 Feb 1697 in Trois Rivières, St. Maurice, QC. Notes for Pierre Lefebvre: Pierre was born about 1616 in Sceaux, d'Anjou (archdiocese of Paris), Île -de-France, the son of Pierre Lefebvre and Jeanne Cutiloup. His name was given to the Baie du Febvre, also known as Baie Saint-Antoine. He is noted at Trois Rivières as early as 11 April 1643, as a witness to an altercation between the Leneuf family and Guillaume Isabel. Pierre acquired his first land parcel of 30 arpent on 15 Aug 1644 from governor Charles Huault of Montmagny. Jeanne and Pierre had seven children. Son Jacques (future seigneur of the Baie Saint-Antoine) was baptized 12 January 1647 at Trois Rivières. His godparents were Jacques Leneuf de La Poterie and "Filles à Marier", Marie Marguerie. On 16 April of that same year (1647), Pierre Lefebvre was granted part I of the seigniory of Gentilly. In July 1648, Pierre was captured by the Iroquois at Trois Rivières, along with a nephew of Monsieur de La Poterie, as reported in the Jesuit Relations. He returned to Trois Rivières in October, along with an escaped Iroquois captive named Le Berger who had been held at Trois Rivières. Pierre Lefebvre père ranked among the notables of Trois Rivières. He was syndic des habitants in 1658 and a churchwarden in 1663. He also took part in the construction of their first church. He is recorded in the 1666 Trois Rivières census with his family. On 11 July 1668, Pierre gave his grant of the seigniory of Gentilly to Felix Thunay. Pierre Lefebvre died at Cap-de-La-Madeleine some time between 16 July 1668 (when notary Ameau drew up his will) and 12 October 1670, when Ameau drew up a marriage contract for his son Jacques. On 20 January 1671, Jeanne Auneau donated all her belongings to her children, but there was a "partage"(estate division) drawn up by notary Adhémar 09 October 1684 between Jeanne Auneau and her children. Notes for Jeanne Nounau: "Filles à Marier", page 53, Jeanne Auneau/Nounau was born about 1626, though her origins in France and her parents' names are unknown. In the 1666 census, she is listed as "Jeanne Auneau dite Aunois," perhaps suggesting that she came from the province of Aunis. She must have come to Canada in 1645. About early 1646, Jeanne married Pierre Lefebvre in Trois Rivières. Though no marriage contract has been found for the couple, it is known that Jeanne could not sign her name, but her husband could. She died 11 February 1697 at Trois Rivières, where she was buried the next day. Children of Pierre Lefebvre and Jeanne Nounau are: + 3 i.
